iCam Pro Cloud
Looking for help using iCam Pro with the iCamSource Pro Mobile for iOS?
iCam Pro Cloud is a service that automatically backs up iCamSource Pro events to the cloud as soon as they are recorded. Event backups can then be easily viewed from iCam Pro or accessed directly from the web if the iCamSource Pro ever goes offline or the computer is stolen.
Unlike other online security camera solutions, there is no per-camera fee to use the iCam Pro Cloud service. All of your cameras use the same online storage space to store all of your cameras' recorded motion events. The more storage you have, the more events you can store, with the older events being automatically deleted to make room for the new ones.
Getting Started
To get started, you will first need to create an iCam Pro Cloud account. To do so, tap the cloud icon along the right side of the live camera thumbnail view in iCam Pro to open the iCam Pro Cloud Features screen. Next, tap Get Started and then Create Account to access the Create Account screen:
Enter your email address and choose a password to create your account. You will then receive a verification email in order to verify your email address and activate your account. Once your email address has been verified, you will be able to sign in from the iCam Pro Cloud Sign In screen. Once you are signed in, you will be presented with the Cloud Account screen showing the email address that you are logged in with, as well as your current storage amount, which will initially be 0 GB. Tap the Cloud Store tab to choose a Cloud Storage subscription level from the available options.
In order to backup recorded iCamSource Pro events to the iCam Pro Cloud, you will need to choose a storage amount for your cameras. The more cameras you have, or the longer you want to store your events before they are automatically deleted to make room for new ones, the more storage you will need. If you are unsure which level to choose, you can always change your subscription to either increase or decrease your storage amount at any time.
The currently available Cloud Storage subscription level options are:
Cloud Storage | Price (Monthly) |
---|---|
5 GB ~12 Hours of Recorded Video Events |
US$4.99 |
22 GB ~2 Days of Recorded Video Events |
US$19.99 |
60 GB ~1 Week of Recorded Video Events |
US$49.99 |
Once you have purchased a Cloud Storage subscription, the updated amount will be shown in the Cloud Account tab:
Now that you have created an iCam Pro Cloud account and signed up for a Cloud Storage subscription, you are ready to configure the iCamSource Pro to upload events when they are recorded.
iCamSource Cloud Settings
Before starting the iCamSource Pro, select the Cloud tab, and check the Enable iCam Pro Cloud Event Uploads checkbox to allow you to enter your iCam Cloud email address and password:
Now, whenever the iCamSource Pro records a motion event, it will automatically be uploaded to the cloud. You can further customize how the iCamSource Pro uploads events to iCam Pro Cloud using a combination of the following options, which are all enabled by default:
- Upload Event Videos - When this option is enabled, the iCamSource Pro will upload every event video that it records for this camera as soon as it has finished recording. Videos that were recorded due to the detection of motion, sound, or that were recorded manually by tapping the red Record button from the iCam Pro Live View will all be uploaded automatically.
-
Upload Event Images - iCamSource Pro event video files remain open while they are recording, and can only be uploaded once the video files are closed when recording is complete. This could be a problem if a burglar breaks into your home, is caught by your iCamSource Pro, but steals your computer before the video can finish recording and be uploaded.
The solution to this problem is to enable the Upload Event Images option to additionally upload still images to the cloud whenever motion is detected by the camera without waiting for the video recording to complete. Now, if a burglar breaks into your home and steals your computer, their image will be immediately uploaded to the cloud as soon as motion is detected and the event starts recording.
- Remove Event Image Uploads When Event Video Uploads Complete - When both the Upload Event Videos and Upload Event Images options are selected, the iCamSource Pro can also optionally delete the Event Image Uploads from the cloud once the Event Video has been uploaded successfully. That way, you can free up storage space by removing duplicate image uploads while also being protected if your computer is stolen before the video upload can complete.
Viewing Uploaded Cloud Events
Event Videos and Images uploaded to iCam Pro Cloud can be viewed from both the web at https://cloud.skjm.com/icampro/ and from within the iCam Pro app itself by tapping the Cameras button in the top-right corner of the Cloud Account screen.
Uploaded Cloud Events are grouped together by camera, similar to Apple Watch Alerts:
Tapping a camera will load its list of events. If an event contains a video, its length (in time) and size (in bytes) will be displayed beneath the name of the event. If the event contains images, the number of images available will also be displayed beneath the name of the event:
Tapping an event that contains a video will load the event in the Event Player, similar to playing recorded events directly from the iCamSource Pro:
Tapping an event that contains only images (or tapping the button in the top-right corner of the Event Player when an event contains both a video and images) will load the collection of thumbnail images for the event:
Tapping a thumbnail image will load the full-sized image, allowing you to view and optionally share it.
Locking Events
When enough events have been uploaded to your iCam Pro Cloud account that it reaches its storage limit, the older events are deleted to make room for the new ones. This works well in most cases, but if there is ever a specific event that you would like to keep backed up indefinitely, you can lock that event to prevent it from being automatically deleted.
To lock an event, swipe it to the right to reveal the lock button ...
... and simply tap the lock button to lock it:
