Some Questions

I'm in a very close position to buying iCam. I've seen some VERY GOOD or EXCELLENT reviews out there. I'm probably going to buy it but first I have some questions:
1. In our house, we have multiple ipod touches. We have three cameras and I was just wondering if for example my sister and I running iCam at the same time viewing the same camera. My guess is no but I just want to know if someone out there who already owns this application and owns multiple iphones/ipod touches has tried this. If this doesnt work, it wont stop me from buying the application.
2. I know many people have not yet gotton the push notification but if I buy it on one touch, will I have to purchase it again meaning paying another dollar on another touch. My guess is not but who knows?
Thanks everyone. I really appreciate your help. Compared to Air cam, iCam is alot better in popularity, reliability, and price.

You can view the same camera feed on multiple iPhones/iPods. You just use the same username and password.
I would assume you would have to buy the push notifications for each device but I'm not sure. If you use the same iTunes account you may only have to buy it once. The push notifications haven't been approved by apple yet so they wont work right away. See

Hello again. Thank you m411 for the info. I also have one question. I still havent bought the iCam yet because I tried out the software iCam source. On the skjm website for downloading the application, it says next to the compatibility for vista net 2.0. What is that?? I tried out the software and the camera on my Vista machine is not turning on. I have tried the air cam software for vista and it works fine. Whats up with this? Is it because of the software. I have an XP machine that is hooked up to a usb camera and it works fine. The same thing for air cam. What is up with this?? I thank you for everyone's support in answering my questions towards the purchase of iCam.

m411 is correct on both responses ... Thank you for that.
As for the .Net 2.0 question, .Net is simply a software framework that comes with Windows:
http://www.microsoft.com/NET/
Is the problem on your Vista machine that the camera does not show up in the Video drop-down list? Are the webcam drivers up to date? Are you seeing any error message when attempting to run or Start the iCamSource?

Never mind about the not working thing. I got the iCam source to work. Thanks for all your support. I still dont know about the push. Will I have to pay more for adding the push to my other ipod touches? I mean, after paying a dollar for push on one ipod, will i have to give another buck to add push to my other ipod touch?? Thanks again for everyone's support on answering my question.

Did you have to pay more than once to buy iCam originally? If not, then I believe the same will apply for the In App Purchase, in that it is associated with your iTunes account.

Hey everyone! Im back! With a question. I connected my XP laptop and when I went to a different WIFI network, it said the server didnt respond or something. On iCam source on the xp laptop, there is a little check box next to the port range. What is that? It is like from 12100 to 12200. I dont know what that is but on my Vista laptop, it doesn't have that. Im confused? Please help. I dont know what that is. Thanks everyone for your continous support on iCam. It works on local wifi entirely.

That is the port forwarding range, and it is configured when the network you are connected to requires that you forward ports in your router to your computer. If you move the computer to a different network then those settings may not be necessary or valid as it depends on them matching the settings in the network's router.

How would I do that? I have a Dlink DIR 655 router. On my vista machine, it works fine. Why wouldn't it work for my XP machine on a different wifi network? I don't get it. Please tell me how to configure it as I don't know alot about the network stuff. Again, please tell me why it won't work for my XP machine and the steps to configure this on my router to work with my XP machine. Thanks everyone for your continuous support.

Are your Vista and XP laptops now on the same WiFi network? If so, and the Vista laptop works and does not have a port forwarding range specified, then I would uncheck the Port Range checkbox in the iCamSource on your XP laptop.
If your XP laptop is on a different network than the Vista laptop then we will have to look at your XP laptop separately from your Vista one. When iCam doesn't "just work" it has to do with the way that two networks (the one that your iPhone running iCam is connected to and the one that your computer running the iCamSource is connected to) interact.
What is the specific error message you are getting? (No Sources Found, Broker Connection Error, or Source Connection Error)
If you are still having issues then if you could go to
http://whatismyipaddress.com/
from the computer running the iCamSource and e-mail it to support@skjm.com so that we can further troubleshoot the issue. Please reference this forum post in your e-mail.

I have just unchecked the port range. Also, with the port range checked, it shows a broken connection error and it says something about the UDP to the icam broken server. Yes, both machines are on the same wifi network. You still haven't answered my question. Why does my xp machine have the port range thing and my vista machine doesn't? It's the same program downloaded from the same website! Thanks everyone and especially Stefan for your help.
