Pre Sale Questions
« on: March 05, 2011, 06:46:34 AM »
I have a Panasonic BL-C30A camera and when I tested it on the iCam Support website I was given this url to use http://xxxxxxx.xxx:8091/nphMotionJpeg?Resolution=320x240&Quality=Standard (the x’s are placed there to mask my actual website). When I tried that setting it did work but if I changed it to http://xxxxxxxx.xxx:8091/CgiStart?page=Single&Language=0 it worked better. Does that mean that I can make the same change and it will work in the iCam app? The CgiStart?page=Single&Language=0 is what normally appears when I view the camera over the internet.

For IP cameras, do I still need to have iCamSource running on a PC?

Once I purchase the app can I also view the cameras from a remote PC?

Thanks

How did the CgiStart URL "work better"?

The nphMotionJpeg URL is the one to the raw video feed. The CgiStart URL is for the webpage that displays the menus, controls, and other information in addition to the raw video feed.

You are going to want to use a URL that points to the raw JPEG or MJPEG video from the camera.

You can always download the free iCamSource application from our website (http://skjm.com/icam/support.php) to try it out before purchasing the mobile iCam application.

To answer your other questions, yes, you will need to run the iCamSource to connect to your IP camera via iCam. iCam currently only connects to the iCamSource application, and it is the iCamSource application that monitors the camera's video feed for motion. As for viewing it from another PC, we do offer iCamWeb (http://skjm.com/icam/web/) which allows users to view their iCamSource video from most any modern, Java-enabled web browser.
