Error code 35?
« on: March 07, 2009, 07:37:31 PM »
I downloaded the new version of icam source for PC and mac today.  When starting up the windows version, after clicking "start" I get an error box saying "error code 35 - Audio RenderStream failed"  Both the mac and pc version worked perfectly before the update, in fact the mac version is still working for me and no settings have been changed on my part.  If anyone has an answer for me I would appreciate it.  Thanks in advance.

drasticplastic - Error Code 35 indicates that the iCamSource had a problem receiving audio from the audio device you selected. Usually the fix for this is to first try to reboot, and if that doesn't fix it, to download and install the latest drivers for the audio device you are selecting.

What devices are you choosing in the Video and Audio drop-downs?

From the pull down menu my only options are DVS audio and video. I am running a lorex mcam if I remember correctly. I will update the drivers to the cam a little later and post the results. Thanks for the reply.

I tried to update my drivers for the cam and now I'm getting error code 15. Hmm, maybe time to uninstall and reinstall everything?

drasticplastic - Have you tried rebooting after re-installing everything? Are you still getting an Error Code 15?

Sorry for the late reply.  I uninstalled and reinstalled both my cam driver software and the icam source software, restarting where I should.  I'm still getting the same error code 35.

drasticplastic - Is your webcam one of these? : http://lorexstore.lorextechnology.com/results.aspx?searchFor=mcam&x=0&y=0

If so, which one?

Are you running any other software or programs that might be trying to use the camera at the same time, possibly causing a conflict? Are you able to record audio from the camera from any other application?

the model I have is a MODEL NO.: DMC2161.  I'm not trying to run multiple cam programs at the same time, in fact icam is the only cam software I have, it's a really stripped computer I'm using only for broadcasting.  If I try and broadcast using a web method, like justin.tv, the cam and sound work fine.  Of course when I'm trying to use icam I shut off the other method first.  The previous version of icam worked like a charm and none of my settings have changed since the upgrade to the newest version.  Oh, and the error code 15 I talked about in my last posts, I believe I was broadcasting on the web using firefox when I got that error and didn't know it, when I stopped all broadcasting, the error code went back to 35.  I have even tried unplugging the audio cable from the cam connections and plugging it back in, same error on both trials.  I really appreciate you giving me a hand on this.  Thanks again.

drasticplastic - What are the choices you have in both the Video and Audio drop-downs on the iCamSource? If you have more than one choice for the audio input, and if you try to use a different one, do you get any error messages? (I understand that you might not get sound through iCam doing that, but the more configurations we can try, the better.) :)

for both audio and video, the only option is DVS audio and video respectively.  Audio isn't important to me, if there is a way to shut it off completely so this error goes away I'm perfectly ok with doing that.  I just need video.

drasticplastic - The previous iCamSource version, 1.0, doesn't include sound: http://skjm.com/icam/iCamSetup1.0.exe

Perfect.  Version 1.0 is working like a charm.  Not sure exactly what happened with the new version and why it's conflicting with something in my system.  (or what it's conflicting with)  As long as it's working for what I need it for, I don't care what version I use.  hah.  The newer version of icam source is installed on my mac and my wife's PC and neither of us have a problem connecting to the built in cams with our iphones.  But anyway, thanks a bunch for your help, I really appreciate it.  Keep up the good work.

Solracer - Have you tried updating to the latest drivers?
