That error message indicates that the iCamSource is having problems communicating with your webcam.

Have you tried the following:

- Rebooting your computer.
- Making sure your webcam drivers are up-to-date.
- Making sure you have all of the latest Windows updates installed.
- If the webcam is plugged into a USB hub, try plugging it directly into the computer. If it is already plugged directly into the computer, try plugging it into another USB port.
- Make sure that no other applications are attempting to use the webcam at the same time, causing the iCamSource to "fight" over it.

I don't think that starting the iCamSource via Remote Desktop would cause a problem, no. Hopefully a Windows Update will do the trick.  :)

What are the items in the Video drop-down of the iCamSource, and which one are you choosing?

Also, please make sure that there is no other instance of the iCamSource running by looking in the systray (near the clock) to see if there is more than one iCamSource icon.

Is the item in the drop-down box say "Logitech Camera" or is it something more generic?

That error message indicates that there is an issue with the DirectShow filter associated with the camera, which is odd because the list is populated by whatever valid DirectShow devices are available.

Do you perhaps have the latest DirectX installed?

I have exactly same problem. I have a Logitech Quickcam Sphere running on Windows SBS 2008 but the icamsource fails with the same error. I have tried to reinstall, do dxdiag which returned ok, reinstalled directx 10 and i have all updates for windows.. :( :(

We haven't tested the iCamSource on Windows Small Business Server 2008.

We have confirmed that it runs on Windows XP / Vista / 7 ... Are there any other users that have had success running the iCamSource on that version of Windows?

The only thing which i might think of is that i am running Windows SBS 2008 on a Server which does not have a Soundcard if that should make any changes ?

Does iCamSource run on a computer a Soundcard ?

The iCamSource does include audio inputs, so the computer not having a sound card may indeed produce unexpected results.

Hmm..... maybe you could set some kind of exceptions so that if this is the case it won't fail video.

I give up. I can't get it to work no matter what i try.

Do you receive that error when you click the Start button, or when your first launch the iCamSource? I am assuming that "No Audio" is chosen in the Audio drop-down list, correct?

I get the error both on start up and every time i click Start.

In the Audio Source drop down i have "No Audio Sources Found"
