iCamSource AutoStart doesn't work
« on: August 30, 2013, 09:19:53 AM »
I have iCamSource installed on Win 7 Pro 64-bit SP1. The program works fine, with exception to not autostarting.  I've search the forum for keyword autostart and saw many older posts that appear to be before this feature was available or are error related.

I understand that I can put in in the startup, but that is not the same as running as a service.

Please advise.

We have not tested running iCamSource as a service, however some of our users on our forums have been successful setting it up as a service. - http://skjm.com/forum/index.php?topic=447.15

Thank you for your response and the link.

Isn't running as a service what is supposed to happen when the "Autostart" check box is enabled?

If not, then what is supposed to happen when that option is enabled?

Autostart just means that it starts acting as a server (to serve up your camera feeds, record motion, etc) as soon as you run the program. Running icamsource as a service allows the program to run shortly after the computer is powered on, even if Windows requires a password for a user to logon.
