Foscam FI8910W does not view in iCamSource

I am a Newbie trying to set up a Foscam FI8910W. The ultimate goal is to use it with an ipod touch.  The set up is WiFi thru my home Lan.  I got the camera to work with the Foscam viewer but can not get it to view using iCamSource.  The URL that I am using is http//:(foscam url):port/video.cgi.  The forums all say the "video.cgi" extension should work and apparently it does for everyone but me.  Clearly I am doing something wrong but I haven't a clue.  I have tried not using the port number as well as various extension combinations but have not found an answer.  Anybody got any ideas.

It was probably a typo, but I want to make sure. You said you use this URL:

http//:(foscam url):port/video.cgi

It should actually be:

http://(foscam IP address)/video.cgi (where the colon is before the 2 slashes)

If it was just a typo that you made on here, are you getting any error messages? Did you put your camera's username/password combo in icamsource?

Thanks for the response.  The typo was on my message, not the iCamSource.  Here is a copy the of the address used:  http://192.168.1.145:8090/video.cgi

Did you change your password in the camera's settings page to be something with a non-alphanumeric character? It seems like there were some issues with this in the past, but I believe it had more to do with the camera's wifi abilities...but it's worth looking into since it just takes a second to check.

When you type http://192.168.1.145:8090 into your Internet browser's window on your PC, are you able to access the camera's webpage? If so, try copying/pasting the following into Firefox's Internet browser (won't work in IE):

http://192.168.1.145:8090/video.cgi

If it doesn't work, try this:

http://192.168.1.145/video.cgi and/or http://192.168.1.145:80/video.cgi

At least one of those should prompt you for the camera's username and password...then allow you to view the video (although the audio won't work). Once you find the link that works, copy/paste into icamsource and ensure you used the correct username/password combo for the camera in the appropriate place in icamsource. If none of that works, post back...

Pass word settings and user name on the camera have not been changed. 

The address:   http://192.168.1.145:8090 works in firefox to pull up the camera control page.  In this case the page is a Foscam option page listing options for Active X,  Server Push Mode and mobile phone.  I click Server Push Mode and the camera control comes up with the picture. 

The address:  http://192.168.1.145:8090/video.cgi in firefox goes directly to the camera video.

I have tried both addresses in iCamSource with no luck.  Just so I know that I am entering things into iCamSource correctly, here is my procedure:

Under the Camera tab and the WiFi tab, I entered the address.  I checked mjpeg and entered the login which is the camera user name .  There is no password.  There is also no iCam login or password yet.  The "Auto-Config Router" is unchecked and the "AutoStart" is unchecked.  The frame rate is set in the middle.  I then hit start and I am assuming I should get a picture in the preview scene.  The Start button stays gray and I get nothing.  Am I doing this correctly??

You might try setting a password for the camera by going to http://192.168.1.145:8090 and changing the password. Then enter that password in icamsource. If you have only one camera, you probably don't need to check the "auto config router" box...but will probably need to if you have more than one camera source (and make sure uPNP is enabled in your router settings). Also, are you entering an iCam username/password before clicking start in icamsource? If not, you definitely need to do that...and make sure you use a unique/secure username/password combination. You'll enter this same username/password in your iCam app on your phone. AutoStart just means that icamsource immediately starts sending video when you start the program...leaving it unchecked just makes you have to manually click the start button in icamsource after starting the program. Everything else sounds good.

Setting a iCam login and password was the ticket.  This can not be left blank.  The camera password does not need to be set.  Thank you so much for your help.
