iCam picture aspect ratio
« on: September 16, 2012, 12:40:31 PM »
Hi,

I have two HD cameras and one Standard Definition camera hooked up to iCam. I am noticing there is no way to set a 16x9 aspect ratio for the HD cameras. All the images are coming in at 4x3 aspect ratio. Am I missing a setting?

Thanks

Image quality/frame-rate is based on bandwidth limitations imposed by Apple. The resolution is limited to 640 x 480 for bandwidth purposes.

With the addition of LTE in the new iPhone can we see that limitation changing?  What about an icamsource for folks that won't connect to a mobile device. Could we get something like that to capture bigger pics?

We do not know yet if Apple will increase the limitation will change.

A version of iCamSource that does not require an internet connection has been requested in the past and is currently on our list of potential features to implement in the future.
