iCamSource Crashes When I Click 'Start' [Mac / Lion / iSight]
« on: August 14, 2012, 07:11:10 PM »
I downloaded the iCamSource app on my MacBook using OSX 10.7.4 (Lion).

The app will not turn my iSight on, so I looked a forums to turn them on using photo booth, which I did. The preview screew in the iCS app has yet to even show a preview - nor did it ever connect.

So...

Then I download the app to my WindowsXP computer and plugged in my external Dynex webcam and once again, the iCS app would not actually tell the webcam to turn on, so using a web site (youronlinemirror.com), I triggered the webcam to run, but still no preview screen. I entered user/password and clicked start but it still didn't work.

So! Help. I want to use my MacBook for this, rather than my old XP laptop.

But it's not working at all.

I cleared the plist pref files repeatedly trying different methods to get it to work to no avail.

Also, no crash logs were created on my MacBook.

Thanks.

Does the iSight show up in the Video source list?

Also, please make sure there aren't any other video capture programs (such as Skype) running. They might be fighting iCamSource for access to the camera.
