Motion detection in masked zones?
« on: March 18, 2012, 01:12:09 PM »
So... I have motion detection enabled and masked out zones of the camera image...   But for some reason it appears to be detecting motion in the areas that are masked off.

Just to make sure... the zones with the X's on them are the ones that are excluded correct?
Is there anything else I can do to make it stop detecting in the masked areas?

Thanks!

I did tweak the sensitivity a bit and that does seem to have chilled it out a little bit.  I have the grid set up on the 9 setting.

I had a similar issue.  When motion was detected, only 1 image would be captured, and I could never really tell "what was moving."  I was bored one day, and watched the "zones" in iCamSource, and found a single tree branch would "dip into" the detection zone.  I didn't want to "X" that zone, so ended up trimming the branch back.

Is motion detected if all of the zones are disabled?  Also, please send a screenshot of the iCamSource motion detection settings to support@skjm.com. In your email, please reference this this post and your username.
