Add a Camera....
« on: February 05, 2012, 12:41:40 PM »
I had one web cam working fine through the iPhone app. I just bought the same camera so that I could have two videos streaming.

It says duplicate cam detected and then removes it from the list?

I actually bought two new cams in the hope that I could get three running.

All three are the same and are on USB.

(Is possible to put 3 cameras?)

Thanks :-\

The duplicate camera message is only shown if the Device ID matches for two or more entries in the Cameras list. In other words, you may have two entries for one of your cameras in the Cameras List instead of the two different cameras. The Device ID is unique for each webcam (even if they are the same Brand/Model).

The solution is to delete one of the duplicate entries and add the other camera from the Video Drop Down Menu.

Yes, you should be able to add all three cameras even if they are all the same Brand/Model. Do you see the three cameras in the Video Drop Down Menu?

Bumping an old post...

I have three identical sources (video-USB converters, easy CAPture USB 2.0 video adapter).connected to a USB 2.0 PCI card with four ports ("For BEST ports Connection" seems to be the brand/model. VIA VT6202/VT6212 chip)

All three work fine when I use two of them (in any combination). But when I add all three at the same time, the last one is grayed out and no picture is showing. Ideas?

We have not tested with that kind of setup. In general, or a multiple camera setup, we recommend WiFi Network IP cameras. Thank you for your e-mail.

iCamSource supports standard USB webcams and network cameras that output MJPEG video data.
