Native Mac viewer?
« on: July 15, 2009, 01:31:30 AM »
I was wondering if you might release a native Mac application viewer (i.e. iCam for Mac OS X). I know about iCamWeb, but the video quality (and especially framerate) is much lower than iCam on my iPhone, not to mention the lack of audio. Since the iCam iPhone app is obviously built around some of the same Cocoa tech as in Mac OS X is there any chance of porting it over to the desktop (including audio).

Thanks,

We don't have any immediate plans for a native Mac application.

Our current desktop client, iCamWeb, is a Java applet running in the web browser.  We aren't able to have audio in iCamWeb because Java doesn't support playback of the compressed audio format that iCam uses.  We were forced to use the compressed audio format in iCam in order to get the audio feature approved by Apple.
