iCam and Axis 240 camera server
« on: July 08, 2011, 08:13:17 AM »
I have three USB based web cams working great...love this product!!!   I recently got an older model Axis 240 camera server and have it set up.  I can see the output on the internal website so I know the camera is working, but when I used the iCam utility to put in the the full IP address I don't see anything and I get this message:

"Your network IP cameral could not be connected to. Please make sure that the camera URL contains the correct network address for your camera"

This is what I entered based on the Help interface:
http://server ip address inserted here/axis-cgi/mjpg/video.cgi

Not very familiar with IP cameras, and not sure if this one is supported.  I have the camera connected via the s-video connection.

Any help is appreciated.  Thanks,

Mike

It looks like the Axis camera server does not support MJPEG formatted data but it does appear to have a JPEG snapshot URL.

The User manual is available here:

http://www.axis.com/files/usermanual/240um.pdf

On page 59 of the User Manual, it describes the Snapshot JPEG URL. If you use that JPEG URL, you will need to select JPEG mode in iCamSource.
