Trouble with 2 of the same camera
« on: March 05, 2011, 07:03:30 PM »
I'm trying to have a three camera system. I have one HP camera and two identical, generic cameras. Each of the generic cameras work with iCam fine on their own or in a 2 camera system with the HP webcam. The problem arises when I add the second generic camera to the system. It is just black, showing no picture. Any ideas on how I can fix this?

Depending on the computer system and the type of USB webcams involved, the computer's USB bus can have trouble activating more than a couple of webcams at any one time.

One thing you can try is to choose "No Audio" for each camera entry to see if that has any effect. (The idea being that if the microphone portions of the webcams are not enabled then there may be enough power available for the three video streams.) This may or may not work, again, depending on your specific system and cameras.
