iCamSource won't open, windows7 64bit
« on: January 13, 2011, 06:35:00 AM »
I can't seem to run the application on my PC at all, bar an icon appearing...

When I run icam source the icon appears in the system tray but nothing else happens. When I click it I don't get any options, when I mouseover the tooltip says "iCamSource - stopped". So that's all I get an icon in the system tray - otherwise completely unfunctional.

Now the very first time I installed it I got the options screen and when I entered user/pass and clicked start it froze and I had to force quit. I've since uninstalled / re-installed and I get the same thing every time. only the icon - haven't seen the options screen again.

I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.

The problem doesn't seem to be related to the camera as it is still the same when I unplug it. The one time  the options screen did open it recognized the webcam but the viewer was blank.  It's a logitech QuickCam Chat]. Might by some wifi cams if I can get it working on my pc though. Scratch that - I just saw the prices.

(Seems unrelated but since installing I've also been having trouble with flash becoming unresponsive and crashing chrome on me)

Any ideas?
Thanks.

Your iCamSource registry settings my have gotten into a bad state. One thing that you can try is resetting the iCamSource's registry settings by downloading and double-clicking the following reg file: http://skjm.com/icam/CleaniCamKey.reg

Great thanks Preferences box is opening for me now, unfortunately it's still hanging when I click start... but it's a step up the ladder.

ah - got it working this time, I just set microphone to none. So I have a sound issue. That makes sense, my sound card is acting a bit dodgry lately, I can deal with that.

Thanks
