iCam Support / Re: Update for ios4, iphone 4 resolution, ipad??
« on: July 28, 2010, 04:23:39 PM »
Once we have completed work on the next major version of the iCamSource application we will be adding iPad-optimizations to iCam.

???

Please Please release the iPad and Windows updates!?

I want to say thank you for the patience in helping me sort through my problem. Since updating the iPhone, I was able to access iCam through wi-fi but not 3G. Stefan walked me through the port forwarding process and all works fine now. This is fantastic support for a $5 product. Well done and thank you. I have spread the word about iCam and everyone I have shown is impressed and has immediately bought it. No, I have no association with iCam. Keep up the good work!!

I SECOND IT!  ;D

From the camera's product description it does look like they support MJPEG as well ... I would try to find a Lorex URL that works as an MJPEG URL instead of JPEG and hopefully you won't have these connection problems.

MJPEG is a series of images streamed within a single connection, whereas the JPEG URLs are single images, requiring constant re-connection to get the latest updated frame. I do know that some cameras (like the Linksys WVC54GA) act better when you use an MJPEG URL as opposed to JPEG. As a matter a fact, our WVC54GA does the same thing with a JPEG URL ... It freezes up after a while. It probably just doesn't like so many connections being made of it. Most likely an issue with the camera's firmware.

The only URL I can get to work is http://10.0.1.4/jpg/image.jpg .  However I switched iCameSource Preferences to MJPEG setting and also switched the "Digiviewer" program in the cam to "Play" which it seems is MJEP streaming? So far no freezing afte 36 hours....will advise... Thanks for the help.

Update 05/28/10: All three LOREX LNE3003 cams do freeze from time to time regardless of what settings I use. After contacting LOREX and leaving three messeges for the tech. and No return call, I can assume they are not interested in fixing the problem. I do Not think it is an "iCam" problem.
Case closed.

iCam Support / IP CAMS FREEZING
« on: May 23, 2010, 06:37:22 PM »
I have 3 LOREX LNE3003 IP cams. Router is an Apple time capsul (no security wep). Running Windows XP.  If I use icam source for morre than approx 24 hours, for either 1, 2 or thrree of the cams, they start to "Freeze" . Turning on/off cams or even restarting computer does not fix the cams. The cams themselves are Freezing on a frame and can only be started again by removing cam power. IF I DO NOT run Icam source, then the cams Never freeze up regardless of how long they run. The cams are set to jpg. They run great as long as I do not run icam source for more than about 20 hourrs?  I'm lost...anyone with ideas?
 I'm using beta 1.4.2.5
Thanks

iCam Support / Re: starting Icam when PC boots?
« on: April 27, 2010, 11:58:43 PM »
OK, I have read a few threads about getting iCam to start when the PC does. Can someone talk me through this procedure. I feel as though I'm fairly computer literate, but have never written batch files or anything. Thanks in advance!

I have the same question. I did not understand the answer from above. I want the icam to start, run and start sending the pics as soon as Windows boots up?

Installed (1.4.2.5 BETA) . Running three cams at once MS-DOS Batch File you made for me on home Dell Windows XP. Also installed on Bootcamp Windows XP on MAC laptop. Getting All functions normal on 3G , wifi and home wifi network.  Previous problem with 1.4.2 always crashing seems gone. Will install on third Dell Windows laptop tomorrow and keeping fingures crossed.  ;D
Update: 4/22/10= All iCam Sources on three computers running normal with home network, 3G and WiFi. with (1.4.2.5 Beta).

1.4.2 crashing on three Windows XP machines. Deleted 1.4.2 and installed 1.4.1....Fixed all ! ;D

Windows XP.  I also have iCam Source 1.4.2 always crashing. Can not associate it with any given operation, i.e. push, audio on, auto-start, etc. Have good internet. Using either USB Logitech cam or built in cam on Dell laptop both crash iCam Source after few minutes of operation. Also could Not uninstall 1.4.2.
Followed above post advice and deleted from program files. Then re-installed 1.4.1 ok.    After running 1.4.1 for five hours, plus stop and start and switching from built-in cam to usb cam... No Crash and Sound now working too...did not with 1.4.2 .

iCam Support / Re: Not receiving Push Notifications
« on: July 21, 2009, 08:21:27 AM »
Ah joy it's working like a charm!!!  Now that I turned off icam on iPhone.  Also fast note that my Trend antivirus wanted to block the outbound notification and I had to "Allow" it before it would get out. Thanks it works perfect now!  Great app as always!! :D

Hi SKJM!

Just a heads up,

I purchased the in-app Push Notification upgrade and I have set two cameras to send push on motion. I was doing a few tests to trigger a message but stiff have not received one. Push is on for the app, and two cameras have it enabled.

Any ideas?

I'm having same problem as the above gent.  Same deal...cams set to push and they are showing movement etc, but no notification.  I am not real clear where this notification goes...To the app? and where would we enter an e-mail address.  Maybe just a statement on how push should work would help dummys like me..
Thanks.

UPDATE #2 - We believe we have traced this back to a change we added at the last minute in the iCamSource.

If you are experiencing this problem you could try downloading this previous build of the iCamSource 1.1 from the following link to see if that fixes your problem: http://skjm.com/icam/1.1/

Thank you all again for your patience.

iCam Support / Re: UDP connection error - broker server - really?
« on: February 18, 2009, 12:13:24 PM »
How can the problem be the icam broker server when I can connect via wifi on my iphone but not via 3G. Further, I can connect via icamweb.
I used version 1 on my phone just minutes before I upgraded to 1.1 and it worked just fine. As soon as I upgraded to 1.1 and tried
to connect via 3G ... nuttin'. I toggled on wifi and connected to my local network and all cams displayed immediately. So... wazzup?
It sure seems as though a 1.1 app issue rather than a server issue.

I too am now getting Broker Connection Error after upgrade to 1.1  .  Works fine on wifi but not 3g or edge. Tried to use different server on laptop with cam but no help.  Have ATT for iphone.  All software is up to date, good signal etc. Using windows XP on all three computers.

Update: 1200 PST:  iCamSource update for Window XP & Vista 1.1.1 Fixed Broker Connection Error.  ;D
