Beta Testing / Re: iCamSource 2.0 BETA

Hey Stefan, I'm pretty sure you changed it so that the scheduling is now universal for all cameras? Is this true? I sort of liked it a lot more when I could set up each camera separately... :-\

Can't wait! Sent my email this morning. Just one question, does/will iCam 2.0 UI (and its icon) support the Retina display on the iPhone 4?

No, not doing anything wrong. Network IP camera support is currently video only.

Does Apple now allow you guys to do 1-way or 2-way audio over 3G/WiFi? That would be really cool to be talk to the person infront of the camera  8) :P

Dean - The Beta Mac version of iCamSource 2.0 is available here:  http://skjm.com/forum/index.php?topic=958.0

The Windows version is still in development, and should be available for Beta testing in the next week or two.

Thanks Jay, saw it this morning and I went out an bought two more cameras  ;D

Only problem is the network camera doesn't work, so I'm running the beta and the old version  :P

Thanks,
Dean

Dean - If the iCamSource BETA is crashing on you, can you e-mail any iCamSource crash logs that you find in Library / Logs / CrashReporter in your home folder that start with "iCamSource" to support@skjm.com? Any crash logs should help us narrow down the cause of your crash problem.

Thanks! :)

Sent!

Also, I'm having some trouble configuring a IP camera with the 2.0.1 Beta... It works in the standard non beta version, but when I try it with the same settings on the beta, it just keeps a still frame of on of my other USB cams...

This will happen with only 1 camera connected. I just get a white preview screen

I got that too, try to fiddle with it. Try things like quiting iCamSource, unplug camera, start iCam, plug in camera... etc.

The beta 2.0.1 seems great, but it crashes pretty often for me, can't quite narrow down why, but it seems to be that when there is alot of motion on either camera it fails.

Once we have completed work on the next major version of the iCamSource application we will be adding iPad-optimizations to iCam.

What sort of fast application switching functionality are you interested in?

I think he means not having to wait for the camera to connect again if you leave the app. Like you can switch to do a SMS then back to iCam without having to reconnect.

Also is there an ETA you can give us for the new iCam Source?

Any updates on this topic? We're in desperate need for an iPad version...

Id also really like to see this happen, at least what with we have on the iPhone but with hi-res graphics. iCam is one of my most used apps. One stipulation, please make it a universal app...

iCam Support / Re: Push works great, but no Badge update

Badge updates would be useful is another situation,

If you have an IM app that sends you a Push after iCam, there would be no way of telling that iCam ever send you one unless you heard the specific noise.

Happened to me too, I just shifted my camera to no face the blinds which were flapping with the breeze from the fan. Maybe an option to make it even less sensitive, or to not pay attention to a certain part of the capture?

Someone must have flipped the switch on the server, Push is working now. Thanks!

Great app as always!

iCam Support / Not receiving Push Notifications
« on: July 21, 2009, 07:48:09 AM »
Hi SKJM!

Just a heads up,

I purchased the in-app Push Notification upgrade and I have set two cameras to send push on motion. I was doing a few tests to trigger a message but stiff have not received one. Push is on for the app, and two cameras have it enabled.

Any ideas?

No, not yet, still learning. Hopefully I'll get one up there within the next few weeks.
