iCam Pro Support / Re: Session Closes Almost Immediately
« on: August 01, 2016, 05:39:46 PM »
When you see that error, is iCamSource still running on your Surface Pro?

Please check to see if there is a crash log. The crash log can be found by opening Windows Explorer and typing “%localappdata%” in the top bar (without the quotes). That will open the AppData folder on your computer. There should be a folder in the AppData folder called “iCamSourcePro” with a text file called “iCamSourceCrashLog.txt”.

If there are any crash logs, please send the latest one to support@skjm.com. Please reference this post and your username in the email.

Unfortunately, OS X won't allow access to the camera unless the user is logged in.

Yes, you will need to login in order to Start iCamSource. Also, please make sure the AutoStart checkbox is checked. That simulates the automatic clicking of the Start button when the iCamSource application is launched. - http://skjm.com/icam/help/#icamsource

You can manually configure your computer to launch iCamSource on startup by going to Systems Preferences -> Accounts (or Users & Groups) -> Login Items. More information about login items can be found here: http://www.macworld.com/article/2047747/take-control-of-startup-and-login-items.html

You could try the method outlined here to download the previous version, but we have not tested this method, and are not sure if it will work: https://sites.google.com/site/appleclubfhs/support/advice-and-articles/app-store-downloading-older-versions-of-apps-ios

You need to run iCamSource (not iCamSource Pro) on a computer with a webcam in order to view the webcam on your Android phone. You can get the Windows version here: http://skjm.com/icam/support.php

Once iCamSource is running on your computer, select your webcam from the Video drop down list and your microphone from the Audio drop down list (or No Audio).

Then set your login and password. You can set the login and password in iCamSource to be anything you want. Make sure it’s something other people won’t be able to guess easily.

In iCam on your phone, make sure you are using the exact same login/password you entered in iCamSource on your computer. To edit the login and password in iCam on your phone, click the "i" button in the bottom right corner of the screen. That button will take you to the Settings page, where you can edit the login and password.

There is more information about setting up iCam here: http://skjm.com/icam/help/

If you have any questions, please let us know.

Yes, that is correct. If your computer is asleep, the iCamSource will not be actively running, and you will not be able to connect. Glad you found a work-around that works for you.

I apologize for the delayed response. I’m glad you got it working!

If you have any other issues or questions, please let us know.

Unfortunately, this behavior is controlled by Microsoft. iCamSource uses Microsoft's media libraries to capture audio.

Are you able to see a feed from your built-in camera via any other video capture software?

We haven’t tested with that particular camera, but if it outputs MJPEG formatted data, it’ll probably work with iCamSource.

When you run iCamSource, you’ll need to select the "Ethernet /Wi-Fi" tab because the camera is a network camera, not a USB camera. Then, enter the MJPEG or JPEG URL for your camera.

If the MJPEG or JPEG URL isn’t something that can be found by searching around with Google or by contacting their support, we actually have another solution available, although it is currently in its very preliminary stages, and that is: http://skjm.com/icam/mjpeg_test.php

When you enter the camera’s IP address and port into that web page, it will attempt to connect to the camera using all of the common MJPEG and JPEG URLs that we are aware of. If any of the URLs produce an image, then that is the URL to use in iCamSource.

If your camera requires a login and password, you can enter them in that webpage right before the address : login:password@Camera_address

You are most welcome.  ;)

The default folder for iCamSource Pro Event Folder is: User>Pictures>iCamSource Pro Motion Events. You can copy paste those into any number of online converts.  We found several from a quick Google search of "webm to avi converter”

Please let us know if you have any further questions.
