Hlep - Can't display more than one camera
« on: June 05, 2010, 09:38:53 AM »
I've been fiddling with this for 3 hours now and read all your help.

I have 3 web cams all in my house
All are able to connect via wifi no problem
When I disable wifi and use 3G instead I can only see Computer 1 on the iPhone.
I downloaded and successfully installed that registry thing on all 3 computers
I've checkmarked the Port Range on the Icam software.

Computer 1 (Vista) - successfully forwarded the port through my router and checked http://portchecker.net/udp.php?p=12000 and it was unblocked
Computer 2 (windows 7) - did the same thing and the port is still blocked
Computer 3 (XP) - Did the same thing and port is still blocked

Router is Linksys DIR 615
I've added the port forwarding rules to all 3 computers allowing UDP ports to open 12000-12100
Question - am I doing something wrong with the router configurations.

Since you have more than one computer running the iCamSource you will need to use a different port range for each one.

As you have 3 computers I would suggest using 12000-12100, 12200-12300, and 12400-12500.

Just be sure to change the Port Range in the iCamSource Preferences window to reflect which port range is being forwarded in your router.

Hi Stefan, thanks so much for the speedy reply. I did all that you had said and still get their error message that it can't connect to the broker. I'm using the Internal IP address for each computer, not the external. Is that correct?

I ran that checker on each computer and it was all opened but I still get that error message on the iphone... any help would be appreciated.

thanks again

You are correct ... Use the internal IP address for each computer in the port forwarding settings.

If you use the port checker to try the additional ports in the ranges, are those also reported as OPEN? Have you also changed the port range that each iCamSource is using to match what range is being forwarded by the router?

If you could go to http://whatismyipaddress.com/ from the computer running the iCamSource and e-mail support@skjm.com what it says your external IP address is then we can attempt to look it up in the Broker Server logs and hopefully troubleshoot the problem.

Please reference this forum post in your e-mail: http://skjm.com/forum/index.php?topic=915.0

Thanks. :)
