Macbook/USB Webcam problem...

First of all, I want to say that I LOVE your product...

But here's my problem. I'm on a Macbook, and the iCam works great using the built-in camera. But I want TWO webcams set up on the same Macbook. I purchased a Macally IceCam 2 USB webcam. The webcam itself works fine, and I can get both cameras to work with iCam individually. But I cant get both to work with iCam simultaneously. I tried what was written in the FAQ: "On Mac OS X simply make additional copies of the iCamSource.app and run each one, associating it with a different webcam input." But this hasnt worked. I used the same username and password for both...

By they way...I'm using Mac OS X Version 10.6.3...

I tried running iCam and iChat simultaneously (one for each camera), and this did NOT work. I could only use one webcam, not both simultaneously...

Any suggestions? Or is it impossible to use a USB simultaneously with the built-in one??

Do you have any other USB devices plugged into the MacBook at the same time? If so, you might try unplugging them.

A small number of users have experienced this kind of issue, and we believe it has something to do with the power required by the multiple cameras along the USB bus.  Do the two webcams work simultaneously with any other applications, say running Photo Booth and iChat at the same time, choosing a separate camera in each?  The fact that you couldn't run them in iCam and iChat simultaneously does indicate that it's the USB bus issue, but I'd like to remove iCamSource as a possible cause of the problem.

Yay! Jay thank you...I went with your suggestion of unplugging another USB device and only having the webcam built-in. And it worked! I am now able to run both cameras on iCam (and both cameras on Photobooth and iChat, by the way)...
