iCamSource is freezing on my Windows Vista
« on: April 28, 2010, 01:13:13 PM »
I think it it just my computer but i cannot for the life of me figure out why this is happeneing. I bought the app a few days ago, set up icamcource on my computer (windows vista) and everything was working for a while until all of a sudden it said i couldnt connect and when i looked at my computer, the icamsource had frozen and "encountered a problem" and had to shut down. i tried uninstalling icamsource 1.4.2 and installing the older version, 1.4.1, but when i started up icamsource again it still said it was running icamsource 1.4.2 :( im not sure whats happening and i really love this app so i hope there is a solution for this. i just want to be able to keep an eye on my dog when i am not home for a long period of time. please help, i have searched through alot of threads trying to find my own solution but i cant find anything that works. oh and i am using the iphone icam application with 3G.

I also downloaded icamsource on my sisters computer, and it worked perfectly. i downloaded icamsource 1.4.2 (the newest version) and everything worked perfectly and i was able to view the video without her computer shutting down icamsource.

Have you rebooted your computer since this problem first occurred?  If not, please reboot.

What is the Brand/Model of your camera?  If your camera is a USB camera, is it plugged into a USB hub or extension cable?  If so , please try plugging it directly into the computer.

Please quit any other video capture programs  that are running, such as Skype.  They might be fighting iCamSource for control of the camera.

It's an HP webcam, built into the laptop and yes I have rebooted. I so believe skype is running though when I am using my icamsource but the camera isn't on on skype, just the application itself is running on the taskbar. I will try closing skype and let you know how it goes.
