Streaming Audio?
« on: April 27, 2010, 07:03:03 PM »
Hello Everyone,

I've been researching like crazy every since I decided that my wife and I should try to use our iPhones as baby monitors.  We have a spare computer that we can use as the media center to stream the video, but we would like to be able to put this computer in the closet.  Ideally we could use a wireless cam, but can make something work if wired is necissary.

From what i've read it seems that no audio will work with any type of wireless cam.  Is this the case?  If there are exceptions, i'm willing to consider them, even if they are more expensive.

I've also read conflicting info as to whether any cam can stream audio to iCam.  Is this true?  Is there a certain type of cam that I should buy that can stream both audio and video?

We have some wiggle room in the budget, but we really need the audio.  The audio is actually more important than the video.

Thanks for any answers or suggested Cams.

Stefan

You are correct in that currently the iCamSource and iCam do not support streaming audio with any sort of network IP camera.

You can stream audio to iCam if using a USB, FireWire, or Built-In webcam as the video source. You can then choose any audio input from your computer (webcam microphone, built-in microphone, line-in, etc.) to stream audio to your iPhone running iCam.
