Way to keep off green light while FaceTime camera is active?

Is there a way to keep off the green light while the FaceTime/isight camera is active so the camera acts like a invisible spy cam?

Unfortunately, the green iSight light is something that is controlled by the hardware, we don’t have any ability to disable it.
