Can you make AutoStart really auto start?
« on: November 15, 2009, 05:36:25 PM »
Based on info in this forum and usage. I see that AutoStart works to start the webcam on my iMac when the application starts. Unless iCamSource is running on my iMac, I cannot remotely access my webcam on my iPhone.

Is there a way to use iCam on my iPhone without previously launching iCamSource on the computer? The way it's currently set up (to my understanding) requires me to have to plan to use iCam and have the application running beforehand. Thus, if I forget to launch iCamSource before I leave my computer, I cannot use iCam!

You are correct. If the iCamSource is not running, there is no way to have iCam connect to your computer. iCam is the client, and the iCamSource is like a server. If the server isn't running, the client has nothing to connect to.

If you want to have the iCamSource launch when you first login to your computer you can add it to your System Preferences > Accounts > Login Items on your Mac.

install logmein.com on your computer.  It's free, and then you can remote access to that computer to turn on icamsource if you forgot or it hung up
