Help please!
« on: October 31, 2009, 12:49:23 AM »
I just downloaded this app today and am keen to try it out however it is not working for me!
I am using it on my 3.1.2 iPod Touch over my wifi network and trying to connect to my 10.5.8 Mac with built in iSight camera.
Every time I try to connect I get the following error on my iPod Touch:
"Source connection error:
One or more of the iCamSources returned by the iCam Broker Server could not be connected to."
I really would like to use this great app but I cant get past this problem!
Could anybody please help me!?

If you're seeing the Source Connection Error when your iPod is connected to the same local Wi-Fi network as the computer running iCamSource, that indicates that your computer is running firewall or security software that is blocking the iCam network traffic.  Please quit or disable all firewall software running on the computer (temporarily) to see if iCam starts working.  If it does, we can configure your firewall to work with iCam.

It is running on the same wifi network as my computer but I dont think the problem is related to the firewall as I never have it on..
Would there be any other possible causes?

If you have multiple routers on your local network and the computer and the iPhone are connected to different routers, that could cause a Source Connection Error on the local Wi-Fi.  Otherwise, firewall or security software on your computer is almost definitely the cause of the problem.

Have you rebooted your computer since you first saw this problem?  If not, please try rebooting.
