iCam feature request - webcam config button
« on: September 02, 2009, 11:29:40 AM »
Awesome app. I'm using iCam to remotely watch a baby monitor. When the LCD screen on my baby monitor died last month, instead of throwing the whole thing out, I bought a cheapo analog-to-USB audio/video interface that the baby monitor receiver plugs into via RCA cables. The interface shows up as a source for iCam and works well. I use my iPhone to watch the baby monitor when I'm home, at work, out to dinner, etc - awesome!

The problem is that whenever I have to reboot the PC, the driver for the video interface resets the video format to PAL which garbles the video. What I would like is quick access to the config panel for the 'webcam' driver. Right now I have to open up a random video capture program I happen to have and use its webcam config button to get to the driver settings and update to NTSC. If you could add a button to get to that config within the iCam server software, that would be very helpful.

Also, I've seen others requesting an audio only option so I wanted to throw my vote in for that too.

thanks for a really great app!

Thanks for the great feedback.  I'm not sure what would be involved in adding that feature, but we'll look into the possibility of adding it to iCam in the future.
