Artifacts when using mutliple cameras
« on: March 14, 2012, 07:52:09 AM »
When I connect more than one camera to my pc I get interference on the screen causing the motion sensing to kick in. Im trying to run all 3 of my cameras from one pc that will do nothing but serve as a surveillance system. Heres the pc's specs and below a few pics of whats happening. 1 camera at a time works flawlessly.

AMD dual core 2.4
4 gigs ram
onboard nvidia graphics (probably 256)
Cameras are all microsoft vx-1000 life cams all running on 32 foot active repeater extension usb cables

We generally do not recommend USB extension cables because they have a tendency to degrade the signal. Please try plugging your cameras directly into the computer.

If you require your cameras to be some distance from your computer, we recommend WiFi Network IP cameras.

We discuss the recommended cameras on our forum at: http://skjm.com/forum/index.php?topic=908.0
