h.264, http live streaming to improve fps.
« on: August 07, 2011, 04:15:04 AM »
Hello, new ip cams have h264/mpeg-4, Apple use http live streaming protocol, why donĀ“t use h264 instead of motion jpg for streaming to iphone?
There are some examples like this software(for windows) that do what i mean..."Thanks to the WiseCast, there is no need to configure your expensive IP camera in MJPEG mode to view on the iPhone or iPad. You can use your IP camera in MPEG-4 or H.264 mode, and view images and video from your IP camera in iPhone / iPad" http://wisedv.com/index_wisecast.htm

Any plan of this kind on icam source to improve frame rate?

Thank  you and sorry for my english.

We can't purchase that app in the US...the SKJM guys live in the US...so I'm assuming they have to stick with the limitations from Apple/AT&T in the US. They have talked about possibly implementing H.264 support, but it doesn't sound promising because of licensing issues. I think that's what they said anyway.
