I'm having iCamSource crashing regularly - maybe every day at least once, sometimes inelegantly, requiring a reboot before being able to start iCamSource again.

Is there some sort of log I can send which will help diagnose the issue?
What is the the % CPU usage of the iCamSource application?

Also, if you Stop iCamSource and run Photobooth, is it running at a high CPU %?

If iCamSource is crashing, there should be crash logs.

The crash logs would be in:

/Users/<Your Username>/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/iCamSource_<date_time>.crash.log

or in:

/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/iCamSource_<date_time>.crash.log

If you have Mac OS 10.6.3, I think they moved the crash logs to /Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports or /Users/<YourUsername>/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports

If you find crash logs, please send the most recent one to support@skjm.com and reference this post.

ICamSource uses About 10% of CPU, stopping that and using photo booth; photo booth uses about 2%.

Hi,

I'm having the same problem. My CPU usage is cool at about 5% but iCam crashes constantly. It never stays open for more than 12 hours. I just loaded it again. Do you want my crash logs as well after it crashes again?

Thank you.

iMac 27-inch, Mid 2011
Processor - 3.4 GHz Intel Core i7
Memory - 16 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
Graphics - AMD Radeon HD 6970M 2048 MB
Software - Mac OS X Lion 10.7 (11A511)

Still not solved, in fact with the latest release of iCamSource, it is crashing more regularly on two different macs. Are there many using Lion who don't have this problem.?

Our developers have been able to replicate the crashing problem by running the iCamSource with 8 IP camera connections. As we are now able to reproduce the same type of crash, we will try various work-arounds to see if we can come up with a solution.
