Bought 2nd camera today

I tried to search to see if this was already answered - sorry couldnt find.

First... I tell every single mom of teenagers they should have this app.  Love it.

Second... I just bought a 2nd camera.  USB connected.  Gigaware 3-megapixal (25-1142)
when running the webcam companion - their software the video response is fast
when shutting that down and run the icam from the main pc - the video response is painfully slow
    a freshed screen every several minutes

I assume I start an icam one for each camera - right?

Any suggestions?

I had an old version of the source 1.4.1
I have installed the new beta version
quality of video much better
I love the auto start push schedule
The speed of the new camera is about the same
I have even move the bar to the complete left for Better Frame Rate
   i then stopped it and restarted it.  Quality seems the same (very good) but speed still slow.

Are you referring to the video framerate while viewing it on your iPhone? Or viewing it in icamsource on the computer? If you are referring to the framerate in icamsource, you could attempt to use a program called ManyCam, which serves as a camera cloner...making it possible to use the camera with more than one program at a time. I know that isn't really your goal...but ManyCam itself might access the camera differently than icamsource itself does...hopefully resulting in better performance. Before you try that, though, make sure you have the most recent webcam drivers installed for that camera. If you have to resort to trying ManyCam, make sure you get the old version of it. I mention the exact version number in one of my previous posts, which you can look through if you decide to try it.

Or, hopefully the SKJM guys have a better solution for you than my possible workaround.

Does the video appear slow in iCamSource on the computer as well or is it just slow on the phone? The framerate in iCamSource is determined by the camera.

On local Wi-Fi, you should see a few frames per second.
On a remote Wi-Fi hot spot, you should see about a frame per second.
On 3G, Apple requires us to keep the framerate less than 1 frame every 2 seconds (0.5 fps).  This has been the limit since iCam was first released.
On EDGE, you'll probably see about one frame every 5 seconds or so, or as low as 1 frame every 10 seconds if you have a poor EDGE signal.

If the framerate you're seeing is significantly lower than that, please let me know what framerate you are seeing and what connection type you're using.

The frame rate in iCamSource is usually determined by the camera. You may want to try OUAnthony's suggestion.
