same 3 Laptops running Windows 7, 2 not working

My mountain home HP runs the icam app perfectly,  my two Denver HP's show that the icam source is "connecting" but never does connect.

Is this a router or port problem?  Please say no because I am computer illiterate when it comes to modifiying registries and port forwarding options.
and I will have to slit my wrist if I have to do any major configs on my system.

I hope you have a knife handy. haha Just kidding. You shouldn't have to do anything to the registry. It is possible that you might have to tweak your router settings. But before you worry about that, I want to make sure I understand your situation. You have 2 homes...one laptop at the mountain home...and 2 laptops at your main home. Are you using the same iCam username and password combination on all 3 computers? Also, have you enabled uPNP on both routers (mountain & Denver)? And have you enabled auto configuration in icamsource on all 3 computers? Also, I am jealous that you have a mountain home. I started skiing a few years ago and try to go to Wolf Creek (near Pagosa Springs) as much as possible. Kind of a long drive from Dallas though! Plus, it gets expensive. haha

Worst case senario, you might have to set up manual port forwarding on your Denver router for the 2 laptops there...but this is assuming that uPNP/auto-configuration is already enabled and not working properly.

I actually have the mountain computer which works fine, one at my home that does not work and one at my work that is not working either.
I have changed the name on all 3 but the password is the same.
Don't know that I know how to enable uPNP on both routers.
Did enable auto config on all.
Don't be jealous, Pagosa is wonderful..my place is in Grand Lake though and I have never been to Dallas.
I am getting the knife out for the uPNP stuff and the manual port forwarding though.

Ok...things are potentially a little simpler since the 3 computers are on 3 different networks, believe it or not. If you are wanting to view all 3 webcams at the same time, you need to use the same username and password combo on all 3 computers and in iCam on your phone. When you say you changed the name on all 3, I'm not sure if you're referring to the iCam username or the name of the camera in icamsource (which I don't think really matters). Just make sure the username/password combo in icamsource is the same on all computers. Also ensure that auto configuration is enabled in icamsource on all 3 computers. Next login to the router at each location and enable uPNP (it's usually as simple as clicking on a checkbox in the router's webpage). Reboot each router after uPNP is enabled...and reboot all computers after the router is rebooted. Then open iCam after doing the above for each computer to verify that the video now works. If you can't see the video, open icamsource settings on that computer that isn't sending video and ensure that icamsource is "started" and connected to the icam server. If it isn't started, click the Start button. If it's not connected, you might have a firewall blocking it.

thanks, I stopped sharpening the knife blade but one question?  How do I get into the routers web page to enable uPNP?
Sorry to be such a dweeb about this and have a great day in Dallas.
I know that the firewall asked permission originally and I did give it.

Click the Stop button on the iCamSource and the edit boxes will become enabled.

Click Start > type CMD into the search bar and hit enter > type "ipconfig" (without the quotes) into the black box and hit enter > the IP address of your gateway is what you need to type into your Internet browser...hopefully you remember the username/password for the router. If you never set it, it's still the default...you can find the default username/password in the user guide for that specific brand/model of router. You really should change it from the default if you haven't previously.

went into 192.168.1.1 to get into the router settings...there is no option to enable uPnP, my router is an Actiontec M1000

This is per Actiontec's instructions. I didn't research it long, so let me know if it doesn't work:

The actual problem is that the ports used by the Xbox are not open for incoming traffic. There are two ways this can be changed.
A. Enable UPnP (Universal Plug and Play). Many of our routers and gateways are delivered with UPnP disabled for security reasons. But UPnP can easily be enabled. To enable it, browse to the UPnP page in the Advanced Setup. Select the Enabled option and click Apply.

Under advanced, it looks like there's a link at the bottom on the left for uPNP. Click on it and then enable it.
