Built in laptop camera accessed remotely?
« on: January 03, 2011, 11:29:35 AM »
hello - a newbie here - i want to to use my laptops built in webcam remotely with iCam and iCamSource. in other words, i need to treat the built in camera, like a remote camera in iCamSource set up. What do i need to make this work?

Just run icamsource on the laptop that has the webcam. It is kind of complicated if your laptop is frequently connected to various networks (especially networks that you don't control). On some networks, you will need uPNP enabled or manual port forwarding (laptop would need same IP address and same open ports on each network) in order for iCam to be able to connect to icamsource. If you have no way to enable uPNP or manual port forwarding on each network, then iCam might not be able to connect to icamsource.
