my USB cam works in windows and mac but not on icamsource on mac

I have a USB camera, which has following ID

Manufacturer String:   1 "Vimicro Corp."
Product String:   2 "Venus USB2.0 Camera"

It works flawlessly on Windows, including iCamSource.
When I try to use it on a Mac, it works in "ordinary" applications, like photobooth, but as soon as I start iCamSource nothing shows and the camera "hangs". I have to disconnect and reconnect in order to get it to work again in apps like PhotoBooth. I have never gotten it to work on iCamSource on Mac.

Any suggestions?

Is the camera plugged into a USB hub or extension cable?  If so, please try plugging it directly into the computer.  If it's already plugged into a USB port on the computer, please try a different USB port.

Also, make sure no other video capture programs (iChat, Skype, etc.) are running on the computer because they could be fighting for control over the camera.
