If you are wanting to connect to the iCamSource running on your laptop with iCam running on your iPhone then your laptop is going to need to remain "awake". If closing your laptop puts your computer into hibernate or sleep mode then the iCamSource will no longer be actively running and you will not be able to connect with iCam on your iPhone.
