ICam and encryption
« on: July 13, 2013, 08:27:08 AM »
I know this is a very basic question, but given can someone explain how secure icam is checking over a public network.  I have encryption enabled, but what information can other people obtain if I'm checking in over another (not my home) network.

Thanks!

The login/password are never sent over the network.  There is a forum thread that addresses how the login/password are handled here:  http://skjm.com/forum/index.php?topic=86.0

The only way someone can access your webcam is if they know your login and password, similar to other online services like your e-mail, banking, etc. Since iCam also uses "zero-config" firewall traversal, your firewall will block any incoming connections unless the iCam has verified the login and password with the iCam Broker Server.
