How to make the screen turn off on iCam Source for iOS

I would like the screen on my ipod touch that is running iCam Source to go blank (or turn off) while monitoring to save energy.    Is there a way to do this?

My iPod screen is always showing the view of the camera wasting energy while monitoring.

My windows laptop goes blank when monitoring with iCam Source, but not my iPod.

Any suggestions or workarounds would be appreciated.

You can darken your screen if you single-tap the preview view.
