How long will 10.5 be supported?
« on: October 07, 2012, 10:37:25 PM »
Hi,

I use iCamSource 2.5 and LOVE it.

I am getting ready to purchase a Mac simply to use as my iCamSource DVR. However, it seems the best bang for my buck is a PowerMac G5 available locally. This machine will never be able to run anything newer than 10.5 Leopard since it is PowerPC based.

I wondered if you expect to need to or plan to drop 10.5 support anytime soon?

I'd be happy to spend an extra $100 and get something that can run 10.7 if that would be wisest from your point of view.

Thanks so much for your product!

-Stephen

Thank you for your post.

We have no immediate plans to drop PPC support for Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) or 10.5 (Leopard).

Thanks for your quick reply! As it turns out, the G5 was an energy hog (averaging 400 watts 24x7!) so I went with an intel Mac miniā€¦ but thanks again for your reply.

You guys do a great job!
