One or more of the iCamSources returned by the iCam Broker Server could not be connected to. I get this message on my iphone4 even when the icam source is not running on my laptop. is this a problem with my phone?
I turned off my anitvirus and firewall to no avail. I just bought the app and downloaded the the icam source today so its never worked thats all i've gotten as a response. the icam source seems to be working just fine it found the cam no prob and connected to the server in a flash. i'm lost and frustrated from flipping through forum pages and seeing nothing on about this problem

Are you using a unique username/password combination that nobody else is likely to use (same combo in both icamsource on the computer and iCam on your phone)? Also, Is your iPhone connected to your wifi? If not, do you have data enabled on your phone so you can use your phone's data plan to access the Internet?

Also, have you tried removing the app and re-downloading it? You won't be charged a 2nd time as long as you use the same iTunes account to re-download it.

yes I tried using a unique password and using a short and sweet username and password....
I also tried using both 3g and wifi. and even dug out my laptop connect card from at&t that gets 4g.
I havnt tried deleting the app and re downloading it yet though I feared wasting another 5 bucks

I just deleted the app and redownloaded it, tried both 3g and wifi and still the same response. I did notice that when the icam source isn't running it did what it was supposed to do and say it couldn't find anything basically.

Are you on a Mac or PC? Did you enable "auto config router" in icamsource? If so, did you also enable uPNP in your router settings? If not, try that. Once you get that set up, you should see a "uPNP success" message in icamsource. This automatically configures port forwarding for you. Alternatively, you can set up manual port forwarding...but it requires assigning static IP addresses to your local network devices and then setting up port forwarding rules in your router (a bit annoying, but I think worth it in the long run). You should be able to get it to work...I don't think you're out $5...at least not as long as you're willing to get it set up correctly. Unfortunately, it requires more effort for some people.

If I remember correctly, dual NAT means that you have 2 routers with NAT enabled on your network. In other words, it's an error message. If you don't have 2 routers, then you probable have a cable/dsl modem that also acts as a router. If you're not sure what everything is, post the brand and model of each piece of equipment (other than computers) that are hooked up to a phone line/coax cable or cat5 (network) cable.

I have a hughesnet modem and the more I sit and think about it that could be the problem because I know my ps3 won't work through it. and my router is a netgear.

Ohhh....Hughesnet...I think their router/modem is a POS...seems like other iCam users had major issues with it. Anyway, the way you configured it should work as long as you only have one camera source. If you add any more cameras, I don't think it will work. Anyway, glad you got it working!

well that sucks I'm leaving for two weeks for training with the army. which is why I downloaded it. I had planned on strategically placing camera's around my home. the last I left some nasty neighbors with sticky fingers broke in and robbed me blind. luckily I forsaw that and took my valuables to a relatives house but the got away with alot of invaluable yet irreplaceable items. not to mention the busted glass and mess left behind.
But thanks a lot for all your help. I appreciate it

I found the first post (that I saw) from a Hughesnet customer. It seems like he found a "solution" by hard-wiring his cameras into the router. I dunno. (

)
Anyway, you can still install multiple cameras and use DropBox to backup motion events automatically. Even though you might not be able to use iCam to view the images, you will be able to use the DropBox app to view the motion events. You'd want DropBox (or similar) anyway, as your motion events would be lost forever if a thief stole your computer before you were able to access the motion events in iCam and save pictures to your phone. If you search for DropBox on here, you'll find directions on how to set it up with iCam. So add away on the cameras and catch 'em in the act.
Worst case senario, this is what would happen with multiple cameras...you'll get a push notification about motion being detected on a camera, you open iCam but can't see the actual camera feed...so you close iCam and open DropBox...then view the motion events there. Hope this helps!
