Running ipCam in the background
« on: January 15, 2012, 04:07:04 PM »
Great App !!

I'm using ipCam on my iPad and would like it to run in the background so I can play a slideshow while using the cam, but when I try this I lose the connection. Is this possible or will this be a future feature ?

Thanks.
Ed

Apple does allow apps to run in the background, however, they don't allow access to the camera while the app is in the background, so ipCam won't work in the background.

Thanks for explaining the "background" issue.  I thought this would be a great idea; especially after receiving an unexpected call on my iPhone 3GS.  But I do understand the need to control stealth recording (voyeurism).

Totally pleased with the App otherwise!

BTW, your HELP page for iPCam was a tremendous help.  I could not get my iPCam to connect to iCamSource (Beta).  iCamSource, kept "prodding me" to correct my IP address.  I "thought" how could it be wrong, I'm looking at on my iPhone screen, and I copied the URL from your support page.

Well DUH, I left off a very important digit with I put the address in on your page.  Everything is great now!
