Updates--Ideas--Source not found
« on: July 26, 2009, 07:18:00 PM »
Hey i just got the app and it works good.  a few problems however with macbook pro. 1) on top bar the camera icon is always there so its not privately running.  Any way to make the icon disappear? i am running leapord. 2) If i hit the sleep button, the program i geuss stops running and when i try to connect on my phone it says source not found or something like that.  Is there anyway to have it run even when the macbook is in sleep mode?  IF not update plz.  ;) .  3) idk if u can do anything about this but the green light next to the built in isight is on when the program is running.  Can that be turned off?  4) may be hard to do but is there anyway when the camera senses motion it automatically takes a few pics (or for 3gs takes a small video) and have that be stored to be looked at in the app? thanks

1) There is not currently a way to make that icon disappear, no.
2) When a computer goes to sleep it stops running any programs, so no, this is not possible. Your monitor can go to sleep and your hard drives can spin down, but the computer going to sleep is basically the same as turning it off when it comes to any of the programs running.
3) The green iSight light is something that is controlled by the hardware as far as we know. When the camera becomes active, the light turns on.
4) Some sort of recording on motion has been requested in the past and is currently on our list of potential features to implement in the future.

Thanks! :)

o ok thanks.  too bad it doesnt work with the sleep mode thing cause my macbook like goes into sleep mode when left open after a while so i cant just have it running always.  Is that right or is there a way for it not to go to sleep mode?  AND THAT WOULD BE AMAZING IF U CAN GET THE PICTURE OR RECORD ON MOTION THING WORKING!! REMEMBER NOT TO FORGET IPHONE 3G USERS AND HAVE AN OPTION TO TAKE VIDEO OR PICS ON MOTION!! THANKS!!

Yes, you can alter your System Preferences > Energy Saver settings to change when and if your MacBook goes to sleep.
