Will I get a screen burn?
« on: July 14, 2009, 04:46:20 PM »
I'm loving this app.  I'm worried that if I leave my computer on with the webcam going all day (and there is not much movement) I will get an image burned into the screen.  Is that possible and if so, how can I avoid that?  Thanks for any input.

The iCamSource won't burn in your screen any more than anything else on your monitor ... If you have an old CRT then simply use a screen saver ... If you have an LCD then those don't burn in anyway.

You could also close the iCamSource window to hide it ... It will continue running with an icon in the systray (Windows) or menu bar (OS X).

Ah yes!  I have a one year old laptop, so it has an lcd screen.  I was thinking back to those old warnings about "burn in" to the CRT monitors.  Thanks for the advice.  This is the coolest app I have ever found.  I watched the "goings on" in my home this afternoon from my iPhone.  What a great security device.
Thanks again.
