Icamsource application for Ipad/Iphone
« on: August 08, 2011, 02:20:01 PM »
Hi everyone,

I would like to use my Ipad as the source cam and watch the video with the downloadable app (already installed) on my Iphone.
Now this works fine in combination with my home comp (beeing the source) as you can download and install the Icamsource application with your computer.
However this is not possible on my Ipad/Iphone as the Icamsource does not come as an application to download through the "legitamate Itunes store way".
My apple devices are not jailbreaked and would like to know if there is a way of getting the Icamsource application working on your Ipad (or Iphone)
I love this software but fancy to use a more mobile device as the source instead of my home computer. I would like to use it primarily to observe my dog when I am not home.
It would be so much easier to use my Ipad for that, instead of moving my computer into the livingroom.

Please advice.

Thanks!

M.

SKJM offers an app called IPcam that will allow you to use your iPad as an IP camera. However, this app does not do the job of icamsource, unfortunately...meaning you still need icamsource.exe running on a computer (preferably on the same network).

If you have a static IP address, or use ddns, you could just view the video feed without using icamsource.exe by using your Safari browser on your phone. However, you would not have any functionality of iCam since you wouldn't be using icamsource. In other words, there would be no motion detection/alert, no motion event recording, etc.
