Support for GeoVision Cameras?
« on: March 26, 2011, 09:57:57 PM »
Hello,

I was considering purchasing a GeoVision camera.  I didn't see the brand listed on the support page, but I didn't want to contact support because I haven't purchased the camera yet -- kind of a catch 22.

These are the specific models I was looking at:

1) GV-BL220D -- http://www.geovision.com.tw/english/Prod_GVIPCAMBL220D.asp
2) GV-BL120D -- http://www.geovision.com.tw/english/Prod_GVIPCAMBL120D.asp

Any information would be appreciated.

Thank you,
-Ken

We haven't tested with that particular camera, but from your links, it looks like it supports MJPEG formatted data, so it should work with iCamSource.

Here's the official answer from Geovison, and btw, it works perfect

Dear Sir,

Thank you for your e-mail to GeoVision Support.

For your question on IP camera, a command is currently available as shown below.

http://220.229.34.200/PictureCatch.cgi?username=admin&password=admin&channel=1

IP speed dome and PTZ-010D or any 704*480 supported resolution camera,
due to image sensor's support, the snapshot is taken in 704*240 instead.

If the suggested feature does not meet your requirement, then we would suggest
the use of rtsp protocol to acquire the video streaming.
