Logitech HD Webcam C270 on Mac OS X 10.6.6 not working
« on: February 14, 2011, 02:48:20 AM »
Hi everyone,

When connected to my Mac I can use my C270 for iChat and Skype, but for some reason it doesn't show up in the available camera's list in the iCam software.

Any ideas why not?

Thanks for any help.

Make sure that there aren't any other video capture programs running at the same time (such as iChat or Skype).  If any other programs are accessing the camera, then the camera won't show up in the Video drop down list in iCamSource.

Also, does the camera work properly in Photobooth?  We've found that cameras that work in Photobooth also work in iCam (and vice-versa).

Yes, the camera works in Photo booth. But, for some reason still doesn't show up in the source list!

Any other suggestions?

Thanks

Is the Logitech plugged into a USB hub or extension cable?  If so, try plugging it directly into the computer to see if that has any effect on the behavior.  If it's already plugged directly into the computer, please try plugging it into a different USB port.
