Icam Source crashing
« on: January 02, 2011, 07:13:08 PM »
After starting Icam Source the I end up getting the "Icam Source has incontered a problem and must shut down" messege from windows XP.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled and still same problem.  Sometimes it runs for an hour sometimes for 8 hours but always ends up crashing.  any ideas?

What type of camera are you using, a USB webcam or a network IP camera? I would make sure that you have only one camera in your Cameras list, as any duplicate entries can cause stability issues.

Also, what is the % CPU usage used by the iCamSource when running?

Right now I have 2 USB Microsoft life cams hooked up with plans to have a ip cam added in about a week.  I will check on the CPU usage

Are the webcams plugged directly into the computer and not into a USB hub or extension cable? USB hubs and extension cables have been known to cause stability issues with webcams.

Do you have all of the latest Windows updates installed, as well as the latest webcam drivers?

Another question...does it only crash when you try to open the iCam app on your iphone? If so, it could be an issue with port forwarding.
