When we were testing the latest version of iCam and the iCamSource we were experiencing about a 2-4 second delay in the audio over local WiFi. The audio delay is due to the compression and subsequent decompression that needs to take place to keep the bandwidth usage within the limits set forth by Apple.
When connecting via 3G or a separate WiFi network, we never experienced an audio delay greater than 5 seconds, and it was usually closer to the 2-4 seconds we experienced over local WiFi.
Because we are only able to test our software on a limited number of hardware and network configurations, we are interested in hearing about the amount of audio delay you are experiencing. In your reply please include the operating system the iCamSource is running on and also how your iPhone or iPod Touch is connected (EDGE, 3G, Remote WiFi, Local WiFi).
Thanks!
