problem with fixed internal ip
« on: May 07, 2010, 01:09:22 PM »
Hi. I have a new problem.I'm trying to put my local connection a fixed ip (like 192.168.1.33) to connect and view my webcam from anywhere without having to open the ports every time the ip is renewed. if I put the ip manually (fixed ip), the program does not work well. I get motion detection alerts in my ipod (push notifications) but if i try to connect to icam to see in real time my webcam I get an error (Source connection error: One or more of the icamsources returned by the icam broker server could not be connected to).
If the router assigns the ip automatically to  my imac, no problem, the program works correctly
Is not it possible to use the program with a manual ip?
thanks

Jay

It should work exactly the same with a static IP as it does with a dynamic IP. Please email screenshots of your router's port forwarding settings to support@skjm.com.  Also, please send your computer's external IP address.  To get that, got to http://whatismyip.com in your computer's web browser.  Please refer to this forum thread in your email.
