iCamSource Pro with
« on: June 06, 2017, 05:58:01 PM »
greetings,

i'm trying to get a samsung smartcam SNH-V6431BN wifi camera integrated with iCamSource Pro on the mac (OS X 10.10.5 (yosemite); iCamSource Pro 1.3.1).

i have other cams working with iCamSource Pro.  the new samsung camera appears to be working just fine with the exception of integrating with iCamSource.

specifically, i'm trying to determine the URL for the camera.  it's an MJPEG camera.  i've visited skjm.com/icam/mjpeg.php and used the suggested url of x.x.x.x/video?submenu=mjpg but it doesn't grab the video.  i've also tried a few other argument strings but none worked.

if anyone has any insight as to what the proper url should be i would greatly appreciate knowing it.

thanks,

pooch
:-)

The only other suggestions we have would be to try the MJPEG or JPEG URLs listed here: http://www.ispyconnect.com/man.aspx?n=samsung ... Or to contact Samsung support and ask them what the MJPEG URL is for your specific camera.

thanks for the suggestions.

i tried all MJPEG URLs at http://www.ispyconnect.com/man.aspx?n=samsung and none of them worked.

i also contacted samsung.  they have a separate support organization for their smartcams.  they can be contacted at http://www.samsungsv.com/Support/ContactUs or 1-877-349-3149.

i provided my model number to the support rep and asked him for the MJPEG URL.  he had no idea what that meant.  after explaining it to him he said that the only way to access the video stream was to sign in to the samsungsv.com website and access my camera stream that way.  he said they did not provide the MJPEG URL.

passing the stream from this camera through any non-local server is not an option.   i'll return the camera and make better use of my time elsewhere.

again, thanks!

after re-reading my previous post i feel a clarification is in order.

i said "i'll return the camera and make better use of my time elsewhere."

that was not to imply that iCam is a waste of time ... it most definitely is not.  i've been using iCam for about 7 years and it has served me well.

rather, i was saying it was a waste of my time dealing with samsung and trying to get them to give me the necessary info.  their support organization leaves a lot top be desired.
