problem with 3 webcams
«

Hi, I'm using 3 webcams by logitech: 9000, 250 and c525 and all are using the same driver package.
The problem is that:
iCamSource don't show the 3rd cam that I add to the list.
So, 2 whatever cams they works, 3 not.
I already tried to switch cables on different usb ports and change list priority.
Can you please modify the software as I can start cameras one at time?
so not start all togheter.
Thanks

Are all of the camera's USB cables plugged directly into USB ports on the computer (no extensions/hubs/etc)?

directly to usb ports, no hubs
EDIT: I just tried to shift Cameras list and it seems I found a lucky sequence,
it apparently works now, the pictures aren't very smoothly but at least it works,
the cpu is working at 50%.
I test it a bit.
thanks

It could be an issue with the USB root hub (on the motherboard) not being able to provide enough power for 3 cameras at the same time. To test this, you can start icamsource (verify in the icamsource camera tabs that 2 out of 3 cameras turned on). Then open a program that supports video chat (like Skype) and see if you can get it to open the 3rd camera. If the 3rd camera won't come up, then it's likely a system limitation. If the 3rd camera does open in Skype, you might verify that you have the latest drivers installed, all Windows updates installed, etc...and if that doesn't help, post back and the SKJM guys might be able to help you (although this is one issue that I haven't seen resolved often...mainly due to power issues).

I dont think is a power issue, btw thanks for suggest.
As I edit in the previous post I apparently solved the problem by switching list sequence again, a bit of lucky.
Anyway it would be nice if I could start all cameras indipendently one from the other.
see you

Ah, I see that edit now. You might consider trying IP cameras....they are much less processor-intensive. I have 4 IP cameras, and my 5 year old computer uses between 20-30% for icamsource. You can pick up decent entry-level IP cameras for around $60 (even ones with pan/tilt/audio). I think I paid $65 for a LOFTEK CXS-2200, which has pan/tilt/audio (all supported in iCam for this camera)...it's wireless (although wireless IP cameras are generally pretty spotty....so wired is the way to go). The downside to it...it was a pain to set up on the network the first time.
