Bluescreening PC
« on: September 18, 2009, 01:52:07 AM »
My PC bluescreens every time i start iCam Source. It's a new install and there is nothing installed on it. I can start iCam but when i start the camera it dumps the memory. The PC is an old one, IBM T41 with 2 gb ram, but it have worked ok so far and i havent seen any system requierments for iCam. It seems like the application uses alot of system resources ( CPU, memory). Someone that have the same problem? Or even better, a solution  :). And is there any system requirements for iCam?

Does the camera work in other video capture programs, such as Skype?

What is the Brand/Model of your webcam (or is it built-in)?  Is it plugged into a USB hub or extension?  If so, please plug it directly into the computer to see if it starts working.  If it's already plugged directly into the computer, try plugging it into a different USB port.

The requirements for the Windows version of iCamSource are Windows XP , Vista, or Windows 7.  The OS should be fully updated with the latest available service pack.

There are also two prerequisites that must be installed in order for iCamSource to run on Windows, the Visual Studio Redistributable Package(vcredist_x86.exe) and the .Net framework.

Please download the vcredist_x86.exe installer from here: http://skjm.com/icam/vcredist_x86.exe and run it.  After you run vcredist_x86.exe,  please reboot your computer.  Then try iCamSource to see if the problem has been resolved.

If that does not resolve your problem, please update .Net.  The .Net updater is available here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=333325FD-AE52-4E35-B531-508D977D32A6&displaylang=en

I analyzed the memory.dmp. The problem was the Logitech webcam and the file lvckap.sys. Here is a solution:

I'm glad you found the cause of the problem.  Is iCamSource working correctly for you now?
